A big thank-you for participating our "Spray, Mist and Splatter" Challenge. I was amazed at the number of entries (99!). Seriously, I thought that a challenge like this might not be too popular and it just might be cricket and me... LOL. The main thing is that we were challenged to step outside of our comfort zone to create something different, right?
Without further ado, here are the Top 10 Favorites.

Welcome to a special challenge blog hop hosted by Altenew!
This ultimate hop is organized by Altenew Stamps (specifically by the talented and amazing May). This special event is a major joint effort from a few favorites challenges in blog land. I am sure you have already heard of some of them (if not all of them). We hope to spread the love of taking part in card-making challenge blogs. Isn't that cool?
These are the participating challenge blogs
If you are hopping fromAltenew Blog, you are in the right place. If not, come on now and join the hop. Since our current challenge theme is "Spray, Mist & Splatter", I had to go with that direction and use my new favorite Altenew Stamps for today's projects.
I created two cards with the same layout, but each has a different embossing powder and watercolors. I am a huge fan of Altenew products. This particular stamp setBotanical Garden caught my eyes because it has exquisite hand-painted outlines. Whether you color the images or leave them uncolored, you get this ethereal feel from the beautiful stamped images. The stamp set is easy and fun to use regardless of your stamping level.
The subtle Antique Gold Embossing Powder is ideal for embossing refined images.
Card #2 With the help ofMISTI, I can position all my stamps in one shot and emboss as many times as I like. I took the same approach in my 2nd card with the Wow Mint MacaroonEmbossing Powder.
Obviously, the cards will not look so artsy and unique without all that splatter. This can be easily done with Kuretake Gansai Tambi Watercolor (32). The color choices are excellent and allow you to mix and match. I had a blast creating these two cards.
I hope that my projects inspire you to try "Spray, Mist & Splatter"!
Our current "Spray, Mist and Splatter" challenge is a super fun one. If you are still not comfortable and are feeling intimidated about it, I am challenging you to create a CAS card like I do here. You see, you can add SO much with a little mist and splatter!
I did the coloring with Distress Crayons and added droplets of splatter with Wink of Stella (gold).
REMINDER:if you happen to be craft supply-shopping, please use our sidebar link to make your purchase over Simon Says Stamp. We have next month's challenge funded. However, if you want to see this challenge blog continuing to offer prizes, this is the simplest way to support it. Every bit of your help is much appreciated.
An exciting event (something to do with
Altenew) is coming up next week. If you have Altenew stamps, inks and dies, your are welcome to enter the challenge here as long as they fit our current theme. However, there is NO restriction for products to enter our challenge here. Hope you come check it out. Meanwhile,
keep your excellent entries coming. I may not comment on all of them,
but I do view each and every project.
I am happy and excited to start our latest challenge.
I don't know about you, but I like to control the elements in our design.
But what about using the following as part of our design?
"Spray, Mist and Splatter" are not the immediate elements that you reach often to add to your design. But when you do, aren't they so much messy and uncontrollableexciting and fun? That unexpected and surprising element truly makes the design organic and handmade!
This challenge's winner will receive ....
$50 gift card to Lindy's Stamp Gang store Since 1998 Lindy's Stamp Gang created their own mica, sprays, paint. They are known in the industry for their gorgeous two-tone colors available in sprays, powder paints...etc. You can visit Lindy's Stamp Gang over Simon Says Stamp
Note: you are strongly encouraged to useAltenew Stamps in your entries as there will be a special link-up event to win a gift card to the Altenew online store (more details to come later).
I am using both Lindy's Stamp Gang and Altenew products for my You Tube video.
The unexpected splatter and spray mist enhances the design, don't you think?
I want to encourage you to be creative and get messy!
Get those sprays , mist out and add some splatter.
There is no limit as to how many cards you can enter. The Top 10 Favorites will be chosen based on the overall design, techniques and execution.
