Guest Designer-Laura Bassen

Hello friends!
I know summer time is the lazy crazy busy time of the year-- working, home with the kids, going on vacation and visiting friends and relatives, camping, stay-cation... etc. It WARMS my heart to see the amazing entries in the gallery. AND it also thrills me that my dear friend Laura Bassen takes the time to share her BIG talent with us! I had the pleasure of meeting Laura nearly 3 years ago (that seems so long ago now). I absolutely love her and her big heart. Laura is as dear and sweet as she is in her many You Tube Channel (see here). I can at least tell you that :)

Check out the super amazing rainbow ink-blending!!
I must say Laura's design is classy, modern and timeless--all in one!

Laura: I simply made several masks with all the different size hexagon dies ( see suggested dies here and below) and blended in distress inks on watercolor cardstock. Then I flicked the water on using the Mini Mister. Easy Peasy Lemon Squeezy!!!!

Well, I don't know about you, but Laura does make everything look easy and gorgeous every single time. Today's card is just one more example. The "All About Colors" challenge is ending in a few days. I hope that you will squeeze in some creative time to enter if you have not done so yet.

Guest Designer--Kathy Racoosin

Hello friends!
Today's post is a rich and scrumptious one.
It is my absolute pleasure to have my dear talented friend Kathy Racoosin (The Daily Markers) returning here as our guest designer. As you may know Kathy has spearheaded in her 30-day Coloring Challenge in the last two years and this month's coloring challenge marks her 5th one.

If you tune in to her You Tube channel this month, chances are you are going to learn a thing or two  a ton! Her soothing voice is also another reason to tune into. I highly suggest that you get your supplies out and watch Kathy's videos and start coloring! Let's hear from Kathy:

Kathy: "Hello friends! I LOVE to color and I am in the middle of my coloring challenge. This is a good time to jump in if you have been on the fence or wanting to give the challenge a try. The idea is to color something daily with any medium. Just five minutes, that’s it. Some days you will have more time and that’s even better. The 30 day challenge is really about carving out a little time your day for something that makes you happy. (You are free to jump in and out as time permits). Basically it’s any thing goes challenge and whatever you feel inspired to do.
Kathy: There are a few ways to share what you are creating.  You can share your work where you are most comfortable like Facebook, Instagram, Flicker and your Blog etc.... If you do, please use this hashtag #thedailymarker30day and check my blog for specific details (see here).

You can watch Kathy's video about this card here.
Isn't Kathy's framed design a masterpiece? The ink splatter is like icing on the cake!
And we are not even talking about the COLORING....

It is evident why Kathy's 30-Day coloring challenge has been a huge success. It is not only because that Kathy has crazy mad coloring skills, but Kathy's enthusiasm and encouragement are also the forces behind it. Will you please thank Kathy for her GD feature by leaving some blog love (see here) ? Lastly, here are some codes for you if you are shopping. Thank you for using the affiliate links in this challenge blog to make your purchase over Simon Says Stamp. This will ensure that  we will have prizes in the future challenges.

Guest Designer-Kimberly Wiener

Hello friends!
Thanks to your continuing participation and entries, I got to know some talented card-makers ever since I started this challenge blog. It is my pleasure to welcome a returned guest designer-Kimberly Wiener. I got to know Kimberly through her beautiful entries and have seen her growth as a card-maker in the last few years. I am so happy that Kimberly agreed to share her new project with us all. We sure are in for a treat! Let's dive in, shall we?

Kimberly: I am a HUGE fan of Virginia and the Virginia's View Challenge and I am excited to be here and just blessed by this welcoming community of encouragement and creativity.  The current challenge is bright,SPECTACULAR, and gorgeous! I have been using Spectrum Aquamarkers and Tim Holtz distress markers in my water coloring lately and happy that I have been invited to show you my latest creation.

Kimberly: On my watercolor palette I scribble my color primary Spectrum Aquamarkers and after stamping the image in Versamark and heat embossing in gold, working light to dark I color the blooms on the mixed media paper.  Once dry I add darker distress markers on areas I want to emphasize and add a light color wash throughout the image and around it in blues.

Kimberly: I pop up my stamped sentiments on double sided foam tape and before adding attach a micro glue dot to hold a few inches of wound gold thread in place.  A few more micro glue dots for sparkling sequins and a trim down to 4x5.25 I attach to a standard A2 size (4.2x5.5) I made with a lovely turquoise card stock sheet.
Kimberly: If you have not already joined in this challenge, I sure hope that you are inspired to join in. Happy Crafting!

Isn't it GOR-GE-OUS or what? My sincere thanks to Kimberly for sharing her talent with us. Will you please stop by Kimberly's blog to give her some blog love?
There is still time to create and enter the challenge! Thanks for stopping by!
