Happy December, my friends! It's that exciting time to announce the new challenge!
How about "All Things Distressed"?
Why distressing you ask? When I first started card-making back in 2008, the first thing I learned on line was "distressing". It involves inking up the edges of the paper or simply applying distress inks to your images and background. Distressing is such a fun and basic technique that any stamper can apply to the design, no matter what the style is. And yes, torn edges/paper are considered distressed. Coloring with distress inks/markers is part of the theme, too!
This month, I am doing something a little differently. We are going to have our uber talented guest designer Jill Foster from Penny Black take charge and help us get the challenge started. Jill is known to use Distress Inks and she truly is a master in all things distressed! Her creative use of Distress Inks often makes me drop my jaw!
Because we are super special...Jill made a You Tube video just for our challenge.
Jill made this fun and whimsical card with distress markers and inks.
Her distressing makes the card design so warm and cozy.
Notice the torn edges? Wow!
Here is the video, enjoy!
And if that was not enough, Jill delights us with her 2nd project!
Studio Sessions (co-owned with the talented Elizabeth Allen) and video. A huge thank-you to Jill for these two amazing projects! I hope that you are inspired and can't wait to get inky!
